Michelle Peerali, is fueled by the desire to tell stories and capture subject with a uniquely intimate and poetic eye. She attended UC Berkeley for her BA in Film Theory and English Literature and went on to receive her MFA in Directing/Writing at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. Michelle began her career assisting showrunner/director, Kevin Bright, on the hit sitcom, "Friends", for its final seasons along with assisting on numerous commercial and music videos, previous to becoming a Director.

She has collaborated with artists such as The Kills, The Cult, The Drums, Angel Haze, The Black Keys, The Black Ryder, Pyyramids, Moby, and has had articles and photographs published in i-D Magazine, Paper, Nylon, a Shaded View on Fashion, and SOMA Magazine. Michelle was a featured director in 2011 Smashbox Studios FACEOFF Competition, going on to win The People's Choice Award for Best Video. She was also commissioned to create a film for Six Scents Parfums Series 4, which premiered at New York Fashion Week, and several of her short films screened at NY MOMA’s Abstractions Exhibit.

Michelle was the DP/Camera Direction on "Citizen Rose" for E!, a 4-part TV Docu Series, following Rose McGowan, her experiences with assault in the film industry, her connection to the Weinstein sexual abuse allegations of 2017, and her role in inspiring a more conscious movement around the world.

In the narrative realm, she Executive Produced and Directed a scripted comedy short, "Candis For President" starring actress Candis Cayne and showrunner/writer Andrea Metz. It has been warmly received by audiences and featured on OUT MAGAZINE and Elizabeth Banks' platform for women in comedy, WHOHAHA.

Michelle also Co-Directed and Executive Produced, "Interior Motives", a short documentary film about the interconnectedness of the worlds of fashion and interior design. Last Winter, it screened at Tribeca Film Center and has been highly regarded by press such as Forbes, Vogue, Variety, and many other publications. Interior Motives won Best Short Doc in the IFS Film Festival and is continuing to screen around the world in various festivals and venues.

Expanding into short form content, Michelle was the DP and Camera Direction on Season 1 and 2 of an Original Series for Snapchat called, "Endless Summer", following a group of young influencers navigate life and love in Southern California. The show has receieved over 28 million views, the most out of all Original Series shows on Snapchat. 

She is currently writing and developing projects of her own, and looks forward to more opportunities collaborating with others.
